A broken link (or dead link) is a hyperlink that points to a web page that no longer exists or returns an error (404, 500, timeout). These links harm user experience and your site's search rankings.

The tool checks up to 200 links per page. It extracts all <a href> links from the page, resolves relative URLs and deduplicates results. Mailto:, tel: and anchor (#) links are ignored.
Each link is first tested with a HEAD request (fast and lightweight). If the server returns a 405 error, it falls back to a GET request. The timeout is 5 seconds per link. Checks are performed in batches of 10 for fast analysis.
Broken links create a poor user experience and send negative signals to search engines. Google may reduce your site's crawl budget if too many links return errors. Additionally, backlinks to 404 pages are wasted link juice.
